Attention, je ne mâche pas mes mots dans cet article. Tout en restant polie bien sûr.

Warning, I don't mince my words in this post. However, I stay polite as usual.

Pour ceux qui l'ignorent encore, j'aime bien regarder la télévision avec mes enfants (parce que j'en suis encore une... dans ma tête). Si je juge qu'un dessin animé ou un programme dit "jeunesse" préfère mettre en avant les vices humains plutôt que les vertus ou a comme ligne éditoriale une stupidité bien visible, je dis "non" et mes enfants savent que je ne changerais pas d'avis.
Je suis sûre que vous vous demandez quelle émission est interdite à la maison. Trois exemples: Cosmo & Wanda, Bob l'Eponge, et Gumball. J'avais vu vingt secondes de chacun de ces dessins animés que j'avais cru que mon petit-déjeuner allait faire le chemin inverse. Non, vraiment. Les dessins sont ignobles, les dialogues d'une bassesse aberrante et la violence est trop présente. De plus la vulgarité et la bêtise crasse (expression qu'utilisait souvent ma mère) sont interdites chez nous.

La vie n'est certes pas rose bonbon et il est nécessaire que les enfants en soient conscients. De là à ce qu'on leur propose des programmes qui les rendent idiots, il y a de la marge non? Donc voilà 5 séries pour enfants (et les parents aussi) qui allient aventures, humour, et réalisation soignée. A vos télécommandes!

For those who ignore it, I like to watch the TV with my kids (because I'm still one... in my head). If I think a cartoon or a youth program put forward more the human vices than the virtues, or if its editorial line has too much stupidity, I say "no" and my children know that I will not change my mind.
I'm sure you're wondering which program is forbidden at home. Three examples: Cosmo & Wanda, Sponge Bob and Gumball. I had watched twenty seconds of each that I had the urge to give back my breakfast... No, really. The drawings are ignoble, the dialogues hit a rogue low sordidness and the violence is too present. Furthermore, vulgarity and rubbish concept are not allow at home.
Life is not pink and it's necessary that the kids are conscious about that. Thence to propose TV program turning them in stupid zombie, there's quite a broad space don't you think? So here are 5 TV show for kids (and the parents too) that mix adventures, humor and trim production. Take your remote and get ready!

C'est un incontournable pour tous ceux de ma génération. Nous avons grandi devant la première saison et maintenant nos enfants peuvent se plonger dans la deuxième! Un indémodable qui parle à tous les amateurs d'aventures, de voyages, et de mystères. Avec en prime une bonne dose d'humour et surtout des personnages auxquels on peut s'identifier. Toutefois, ce qui a attiré des milliers (millions?) de téléspectateurs c'est avant tout l'histoire des Cités d'Or! Parce que franchement, qui résiste à l'appel de la chasse aux trésors/énigmes sur fond de technologies antiques et d'orphelin qui fait briller le soleil? [Je ne veux pas vous dévoiler la fin de la saison 1 mais ça part en SciFi quand même!] Allez, je suis gentille, je vous mets les génériques des saisons 1 et 2. Cultissime!
For French people from my generation, this cartoon is a hit. We grew with the first season and now our children can watch the second season! A timeless show that speak to all who likes adventures, travels and mysteries; with also a good portion of humor and characters we can identify ourselves with. However, what brought thousands (millions?) viewers it's primarly the story of the golden Cities! Because frankly, who can resist the call of a good treasure hunt on a background of antic technologies and the story of an orphan who makes the sun shines? [I don't want to spoil the end of season 1, but it goes a bit on the SciFi side!] As I'm a kind girl, I let you watch the theme songs for seasons 1 and 2. Cult!

La série Wild Kratts est diffusée en France depuis quelques semaines sur France 4 et vous pouvez trouver sur internet des épisodes, sur le site de la chaîne ou comme ici sur le site de la chaîne PBS en version originale où cette émission est diffusée à l'origine. Martin et Chris Kratt animent depuis plusieurs années des émissions animalières pour les enfants. Avec Wild Kratts et son mélange documentaire et aventures animées et parfois déjantées, ils ont su trouver une formule intelligente et amusante pour intéresser les jeunes téléspectateurs à la biologie, la zoologie et l'écologie.

Wild Kratts (wikipedia) created by Chris Kratt (BoA in Biology) and Martin Kratt (BoA in Zoology). These two brothers have founded their own animation studio to produce Kid friendly TV shows about Ecology, Animal Life and the impact of human deeds on nature. Le livre d'Antoine St Exupéry est un incontournable de la littérature jeunesse en France mais aussi dans le reste du monde. Un dessin animé a été réalisé pour raconter la suite des aventures du Petit Prince. Il visite 24 planètes en compagnie de Renard afin de les sauver de la mauvaise influence du Serpent. Chaque planète fait face à des problèmes différents et les motivations des personnages explorent des sentiments négatifs comme positifs; Le Serpent utilise bien entendu les désirs des protagonistes en mêlant vérités et mensonges afin de leur faire accomplir ses propres desseins. Le désespoir et la destruction étant son but. Une animation soignée, un Renard qu'on a envie de prendre dans ses bras tellement il est craquant (et grognon par moment aussi), un Petit Prince qui respecte assez bien le personnage créé par St-Exupéry et des histoires avec une réelle profondeur psychologique, on en redemande! Un conseil à suivre absolument: regardez le dernier épisode La Planète du Serpent en DERNIER car il est génial! Il serait vraiment dommage de connaitre cette fin avant d'avoir découvert tous les autres épisodes. (Je sais de quoi je parle, je les ai tous vu et heureusement j'ai vu la Planète du Serpent en dernier sinon j'aurais cherché des choses dans les autres épisodes et les auraient moins appréciés... alors qu'ils sont tous bien.)
Antoine de St-Exupéry's book is reknown in French litterature but also in the rest of the world. A cartoon has been produced to tell the following adventures of the Little Prince (not the author writing though). He visits 24 planets together with Fox in order to save them from the dark influence of the Snake. Each planet faces a different problem and the motivation of the characters explore the feelings: negative as positive ones. The Snake uses the desires of the protagonists in mixing truths with lies to make them accomplish his own plan. The dispair and the destruction are of course his principal goal. A beautiful animation, a Fox so cute we would like to cuddle him, a Little Prince in harmony with the original created by St-Exupéry and stories with a real psychologic background, we want more! An advice to follow absolutely: look at the last episode The Snake's planet at LAST because it's the real deal! It would be a shame to know the end before having watched all the previous episodes. (I know what I'm talking about, I have watched all of them and I would have been so sad to know the end before. I would have looked for "things" in the other episodes and wouldn't have enjoyed them as much... while they are awesome.)

Animation: pâte à modelée. Personnages: un fermier anglais et ses animaux, surtout son chien et ses moutons. Histoire: tout ce qui passe par la tête des personnages, tous plus farfelus et malins les uns que les autres. Fous rires garantis pour tout le monde!

Animation: playdough. Characters: an English farmer and his farm animals, mostly his dog and his sheeps. Story: everything coming in these scatty and mischievious characters' head. Giggling on the menu for all!
